The Staff Accountant accurately reports the financial position for each entity in a designated portfolio of properties.
They manage and report on all accounting information of each assigned entity while working closely with the property & asset management teams.
Monarch Investment & Management Group has been actively involved in Multifamily Housing investment since 1992.
Unlike many of our peers, we are not a real estate investment trust but privately owned by people who actually care.
We currently own and manage over 70,000 apartments in 21 states, making us the 8th largest multifamily owner in the country.
In addition, Monarch operates a nationally franchised hotel and a ski and snowboard resort.

Responsibilities:
- Reviews cash related events daily, including but not limited to Accounts Receivable (AR) & Payable (AP)- Prepares and posts monthly journal entries and reconciliations- Reviews and ties out all budget variances and account balances with corresponding reports- Prepares Month End, Quarterly, and Annual Financial Statements- Assists in the preparation and review of quarterly reports for investors and management- Prepares disbursements and management fees- Backs up other Staff Accountants when neededWhat the ideal applicant will have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience- 1 to 2 years staff accounting experience is strongly preferred- Must have a demonstrated ability to prepare and understand financial statements- Experience with Yardi or other multifamily accounting programs preferred but not requiredAre you ready for the next chapter in your career?
